The English National Sheepdog Trials 2017 are being organised for the International Sheepdog Society (ISDS) by a team led by Bob Wilden from Suffolk. Bob is a past English National team member, respected sheepdog trainer, sheep farmer, owner of The Wool Room East Anglia, and chairman of the East Anglian Sheepdog Society.
In charge of the trials is Suffolk shepherd and grazier Ed Hawkins, who with his dog Troy, have qualified for the World Trial, taking place on 13th – 16th July at Opmeer in The Netherlands.
The sheep for the trials have been supplied by Ed Thornalley, Chief Sheep Steward, and Suffolk shepherd and sheepfarmer. They are North Country Mules, and will be available for purchase after the Trials.
Defending his title against over 150 contenders is the 2016 English National Champion Jed Watson, seen in the photo with Gwydr Zac.
The International Sheep Dog Society is a member organisation and registers over 6,000 Border Collie pups every year on behalf of its members. The ISDS Number and Dog Certificate are a guarantee of pedigree that, for most dogs, can be traced back over 100 years.
The ISDS has over 6000 members worldwide.
